Q: What services does the Family Service Center provide?

A: Family Service Center offers individual and family therapy to clients.  We also offer seminars and special sessions for the community targeted to specific concerns. Our 24 experienced therapists regularly deal with a range of issues including martial concerns, drug and alcohol abuse, blended family issues, emotional disorders, generational concerns, school, employment and work related issues.

Q: What should I know about the Family Service Center staff?

A: Robert J. Noone, Ph.D., Director of the Family Service Center since 1984, received his post-graduate training in family therapy at Georgetown University Medical Center. He has been a practicing family therapist for 34 years. The Family Service Center clinical staff has an average of 15 years of professional experience, with 8 years of Family Service Center service. More than half have completed postgraduate training programs. The Family Service Center Board is pleased to have this experienced and well-trained staff serving our communities.

Q: What is unique about the agency?

A: Family Service Center, a not-for-profit corporation, is supported partly by grants from the United Way, townships and foundations. Corporate and individual contributions, client fees and board fundraising efforts make up the remainder of Family Service Center's fund sources.

Q: What are the fees for services?

A: Fees are based on a sliding scale, ranging from $15 to $110 per session and are often partially reimbursed through insurance. Ability to pay is based on 1) annual gross income; 2) number of family members dependent on that income; and 3) extraordinary expenses.
